Name: Malathi

Designation: Intern (Jan to June 2019)

Second-year OU student worked as an Intern

I am from Mechanical and I have done my Internship for 6 months (part-time i.e., only on weekends and public holidays). I learned about FFF, SLA, SLS technology and also got hands-on experience on FFF printers.

I worked here along with my 2 classmates Rishitha and Muskan. We assembled the new printers and gave 3dprints for customer orders. We learned about the Prusa style, CoreXY style 3d printers. We learned slicing software such as Simplify3d and Cura. We also made models using 3d pens.

Though Post-processing was time taking and hard,  it was good to work on new projects. The working fellow members are great and we all coordinated well for a better office environment.

We also made contents on new and emerging topics in 3dprinting such as fashion, architecture, plant layout, food printing etc. We even took a few toys and some freebies and also got my first Lithophane printed from the office. Though we had to travel long distances it was never tiring to work in the office for long hours. We got Very good supplements of snacks and tea. Our sir was very understanding and gave us off on our exam days. It was a very good place to work and get to know new things in this new era of Industry 4.0.
